The cover will continue for holiday/vacation trips away from your location of up to 7 days, but the cancellation cover will not apply for such trips. You will need to arrange your own cover for flights/hotels etc on holiday trips. The cover is not an insurance policy in the traveller’s name, it is a group cover for the University provided by UMAL Confirmation that you are covered under the University's cover will be emailed once you have registered - you need to answer all the questions and confirm your order at the end. Main cover benefits Personal accident benefit in event of accidental death/injury £50,000 There are many other benefits available through the emergency helpline and website provided - follow this link for a summary of the cover Main cover restrictions/exclusions Travelling against medical advice Please refer any questions to Simon Holt Travel against advice of UK FCO advice The UK government publishes its advice here. There is no cover for trips undertaken on University related activities without its express permission. The assistance provided under the University’s cover may be restricted if travel is undertaken against government advice. The government’s definition of ‘essential travel’ is “Sometimes we say that only essential travel is advised. Whether travel is essential or not is your own decision. You may have urgent family or business commitments to attend to. Circumstances differ from person to person. Only you can make an informed decision based on the risks.” |
