We are delighted to announce the University of Bath’s 2^nd Disciplinary Literacy Symposium on the 26^th and 27^th June 2025 at the University of Bath and the Royal High School Bath.  The Symposium will bring together some of the leading educational specialists, linguists and academics in the field, who will present and discuss their latest work in the areas of:  

• Teacher professional development 

• Cross-disciplinary and teacher/researcher collaboration 

• Disciplinary literacy in the disciplines 

• Academic Literacy in Higher Education 

• Genres and Genre-Based Pedagogy 

The event is designed to be of particular interest to secondary school teachers, and promises excellent opportunities for discussion, knowledge exchange, professional development and networking. This is a two-day in-person event with refreshments provided.    

Attendance tickets

Please indicate if you would like to attend the post-symposium ‘pasta and charcuterie’ dinner at The Richmond Arms, Bath on Friday 27^th June, 5:30pm. Spaces are limited, so please confirm as soon as possible if you wish to attend.

Visiting Bath: 

Unfortunately, the University of Bath cannot provide accommodation for this event. However, the city has a wide range of hotels, B&Bs and guesthouses which are bookable through the Booking.com website here.
