Course Description

This short course introduces you to some of the content available within the SL500157 Public Health unit. This short course supports learners to understand how to promote public health interventions to ensure environmental sustainability within the health care system and pharmaceutical sector. By the end of this module you should be able to:

Understand what climate change and enhanced greenhouse effects are and their impact on the planet and public health.

Understand how environmental sustainability relates to pharmacy practice and how it can be embedded into your practice and promoted to the wider team and to patients and the public.

Understand ways to reduce emissions across medicines, transport and healthcare, as well as finding lower-carbon ways to practise in the pharmaceutical sector.

Evaluate the opportunities in pharmaceutical public health to develop, adapt and implement environmental sustainability interventions.
